History, Vision, & Purpose of CTL
CTL was first active in the Spokane area in the fall of 2001, with a starting group of fifty- seven men. Chosen To Lead Family Ministries was officially established under the guidance, support, and direction of the local church in the fall of 2004. Steve Altmeyer, the founder of CTL, envisioned, with a strong passion, the advancement of the Kingdom Of God, one family at a time through the development of godly lifestyles of men. These Men who willfully and enthusiastically accepted God's command to lead would then take their calling to lead into their families, the church, and workplace. He knew that the daily practice of these spiritual disciplines in a man's life, through the Power of the Holy Spirit, would bring glory to God, by advancing God's Kingdom in these arenas of life.

What We Believe
* The Bible is the complete, inspired, and infallible Word of God. It is the final authority for Christian faith, worship, and conduct
* In one Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
* In the virgin birth, death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ
* In the sinfulness of every man; that sin separates man from God
* That Jesus Christ died for men's sins as a substitutionary sacrifice. Salvation cannot be earned by good works but only through faith in Jesus Christ
* That believers are baptized into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation
* That believers are sealed and eternally kept by the power of the Holy Spirit
* In the resurrection of the dead of all men - the saved to everlasting blessedness; the lost to everlasting punishment
* In two ordinances: Baptism, for believers by immersion and the Lord's Supper
* In the personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ

Theme of CTL
Having been raised in the church and growing up in a Christian home does not guarantee that a man will know his calling or purpose in life. When God chose Abraham to establish His Covenant with man, He had a definite purpose that is made very clear in Genesis 18:19 “For I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice.” This verse is the theme verse of CTL family ministries. We as men are called and chosen by God for the same purpose: to lead lives of righteousness, and train our children to know and keep God's word. This ministry was established to help men understand and move forward to fulfill this great calling by providing a ministry of encouragement, vision, training, and discipleship. CTL is designed to help men move from being a spectator to being that of an impact player in the game of life; choosing to lead, as God has ordained.

Chosen to Lead
The Spiritual Disciplines that CTL teaches are crucial in providing spiritual leadership. These are not new insights to biblical maturity. These disciplines are taught in a method of biblical progression, and their application is explained and demonstrated in great detail in order that we can become firmly rooted and established in our faith. CTL has identified the key Spiritual Disciplines that will help us to be the leaders that God has purposed for us to be. These disciplines, for the most part, will be developed over the course of a period of thirty or more days.

Can you imagine the impact of the local church if men practiced and walked in these disciplines? That's the vision of CTL; to see men thoroughly embrace these disciplines, living in this life victoriously with God. This commitment with CTL will require you to fit into your busy schedule an additional three hours a month; meeting twice a month for an hour and a half. A man making this commitment will turn on the empowerment of God in his life. The priceless results will be felt in his family, in the church and within his workplace.

CTL's strong desire is to be a ministry that brings about the necessary changes in the hearts of men that will radically change their families, churches, and communities. We understand that this is a declaration of war against satanic forces, and that we will be engaged in many battles. Because the survival of our Christian families is what is at stake, I urge you to take action.

May we not be numbered among the men who have abandoned their spiritual calling to lead their families, but rather be the men who will teach and build Christ- like character and doctrine into the lives of their children.

Thanks for joining with CTL ministry and the hundreds of other men who will answer this call to lead. With God's help, you and I will stay the course and lead courageously

Steve Altmeyer
